As I (Michael Kobrowski) was reminded at a rescent meeting, not everyone is on Facebook (Thanks, Gene for the reminder). So we will post some of our Facebook Collection content here on our WWHS.US Website blog as well! Let us know you like it!
Westfield Washington Wednesday: A somewhat sad rabbit hole I (Michael K) followed with this new donation. Hopefully you all know about Nicholas & Fanny Barker by know, the builders of the 1835 Barker Family Cabin we (with a lot of help from YOU) restored.
Well, we just accessioned a pretty special picture of their great grandson Jesse O Perry. He was the Grandson of Elisha Barker & Candace (Beals) Barker, and the son of Vashti (Barker) Perry and James F Perry. He died tragically young in 1909, only 26 years old because of "pulmonary consumption" which is what they called tuberculosis (TB) back then. He had just married Marie (Reagan) in 1904. Seems like they didn't have any children, and she lived back with her parents in 1910. Thank you Andy Gappa for rescuing it from the antique mall and donating it to us! Appreciate it!
